About FOCAS
Thank you for stopping by and seeing what FOCAS is all about. In the early 1980's, a group of professional fisherman founded an organization to promote Christ through the sport of fishing. Thus, the Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society was established. The vision of these pioneers was to use fishing as a tool to reach the unchurched and strengthen the bond between Christians.
Our chapter is located in Western Kentucky with Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake within the borders of Trigg County. FOCAS of Cadiz began in February of 2003 with 5 members. We are a group of people that promote fishing through Christ. In addition, we offer family events, a kids derby, and a few friendly competitions. As you will see through this page and all of our others, the love of fishing is our platform. FOCAS is not an average bass club as our main goal is to meet new folks, strengthen our bond as Christians, share the Gospel and hopefully represent Christ in a way that is pleasing to God.

FOCAS is a collection of sinners that fall short of the glory of God each and everyday, but this organization provides an opportunity to be better Christians through fellowship, spreading God's Word through testimonies and devotionals and having prayer time at each of our events. Check out what a few of our members say that FOCAS means to them....

For me, our FOCAS club is about being able to participate in a sport with “salt of the earth” people. Small clubs like ours are the heartbeat of bass, fishing. Fellowship, friendly competition, and fishing for bragging rights is one of my special happy places. Our mission/faith statement should be our path and goal for life each day and for that I’m proud to wear the FOCAS name.

I really enjoy being a FOCAS member because all members are gracious and kind. We honor the Lord Jesus with prayer and a wonderful Biblical devotion at our events. FOCAS is not all about winning. it is about Christian fellowship. In addition, the FOCAS guys and gals can catch fish and you can learn from them!

I really like it because it is a very good time to share Christ with other people. Although we are no better tyhen anyone else, others are watching us to see how we conduct ourselves. Fortunately, for the most part, we do a good job of letting othres see Christ in us. It’s an awesome group!
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men.” Matt 4:18-19
FOCAS CORE BELIEFS
We believe that there is one eternal God, existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and regeneration by the Holy Spirit are absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose in-dwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; either they are saved unto the resurrection of life or they are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that God ordained the family as the basic unit of our society and that through the spiritual church family we can actively demonstrate the love of God to one another.
