A “Jack of all trades" is a figure of speech used in reference to a person who has dabbled in many skills.  So in this event, your team must show their angling skills by catching fish from a variety of techniques and lures.  The concept for this event is that you must catch a keeper from each of the different categories to build your creel.  Therefore, to have a limit for this event, your team must catch a keeper from EACH of the 5 categories, thus showing off your versatility as anglers.

The 5 categories for this event are:

Spinning Blade- buzzbait, spinnerbait, in-line, Underspin

Finesse- (less than 1/4oz) drop shot, Ned rig, wacky, shakeyhead

Hard Bait- crankbaits, rattletrap, jerkbait, metal blade bait, Pop-R, spoon, etc...

Skirted Jig- regular jig, spider jig, bladed/vibrating jig

Soft plastic- (primary bait, not as a trailer) worm, craw, brush hog, lizard, tube, etc and a swimbait (if not on an underspin)

1. In order to have a 5 fish limit, a keeper must be caught from EACH of the 5 categories.

2. Once you catch a keeper, you’ve completed that category.  Now, you have a choice:

You can throw a lure from another category to try and add another keeper to the livewell.

               OR

Or you may continue to fish with a lure from a completed category, but you can only upgrade your weight of any fish in the livewell, but you CANNOT add to the number of fish in the livewell.     For example: Team A has 3 categories complete. (Jig, soft plastic, finesse).  One guy catches one on a chatterbait, since the jig category is already complete, he can cull any in the livewell, but he CANNOT add the 4th fish.

3. If a lure fits multiple categories, you can only use it to satisfy one category.

For example, you can use a Ned for finesse or soft plastic.  However, you cannot catch 2 fish on a Ned and claim one for Soft plastic and one for finesse.  It is either one or the other.   So whichever one you check off once you catch the first one on a Ned, that's what you have to stick with.

4. Obviously, this event will require 100% honesty.  This is a fun event that should challenge

your skills, so we ask that everyone hold ourselves accountable for playing fairly.

5. If you have a question during the event, call James or another member that is fishing.

If it's about a caught fish, tag it and put it into the livewell until you get clarification.  This is the first time we've done this, so something might come up that we haven't thought about.
