2005 Year in
Review........

March 19 |
The year got cranking with the
first of four OPEN Bass Tournaments.
Tough fishing conditions left Joe Noel and Danny Reddick bringing the only
limit to the scales weighing 17.15 pounds.

April 23 |
The majority of our member decided to cancel the first Club tournament of
the year due to extremely cold weather and 30+ mph winds. |

May 14 |
The Spring Pastor Appreciation
Day was held at Rockcastle Bay and the Crossroads Fellowship team of James
Shelton and pastor Geoff Baggett took the braggin' rights with a 15.77 bag
of largemouth.

May 21 |
The May OPEN tournament had
good weather, a good number of teams, and a good bite for the anglers.
In fact, there was 11 limits, 12 double digit weights, and three bass over 6
pounds. Winning the shootout was Clint Huntsman and James
Shelton topping the field with 20.02 pounds.

June 11 |
The June Club tournament was
unusual, with two different sets of winners. The Tennessee duo
of Mike Bumpus and Larry Osborne didn't make it in the money pot, but they
definitely smoked the competition with 14.7 pounds.

For the 3rd year in a row, the
Lord has blessed the FOCAS Kids Fishing Derby with a beautiful day of fun,
fishing, and fellowship. By the way......Who said girls can't
fish?

July 15 |
The
first Club
Night Tournament of year provided a nice evening to fish, but a very slow
bite.

This tournament fielded the
largest number of participants in the first three years of FOCAS.
Ron and Art Ryan bested the field by bringing 5 fish weighing 19 pounds
even, along with a 6 pound largemouth to capture the top honors for big bass
as well.

August 12 |
The
second club Night Tournament was a slight improvement from the previous
month. Ted Martin and Jason Taylor brought 4 healthy bass to
claim all three pots; most total pounds, big fish overall, and big
smallmouth. (full

September 10 |
The Fall Pastor Appreciation
Day should be summed up with one phrase...."You gotta be kidding me!"
The Crossroad team held onto the "traveling trophy" by bringing the only
keeper bass to the scales (full results) |

The Fall OPEN Bass Tournament
provided a tough bite for most anglers, but the team of Tomi
Estes and James Naylor brought 5 healthy largemouth to the scales weighing 16.19
pounds.
