FOCAS took a chance on having an early
bird tournament with no other tournaments scheduled. It seemed
that a big turn-out was going to happen and then the weatherman changed
everything a few days before the weekend. They called it dedicated
and some
called it something else, but 21 anglers took to the lake regardless of the
rain, freezing temperatures, and high winds.
John Kennedy and Chris Hoover
certainly toughed out
the conditions to haul in a huge sack of bass. The duo had five hawgs
that topped the scales at 24.66 pounds, anchored by a pair of 6.12 pounders.
Not to far behind was the brother team of Matt and A.D. Boehman, which
brought in an impressive sack of 22.99 pounds, also anchored by a 6 pounder
(6.15). Only six boats weighed in, but each one had over 16
pounds!
