Spring "Church Leadership"
Appreciation Day
May 9, 2009
With rain being a factor for 13 out of the last 15 days, the lake has gone
up and down and back up again. However, Friday night gave the
fastest change in recent history. The lake rose over a foot,
dropped eight degrees and
Lake Barkley turned from clear to "chocolate" overnight. But
don't ever question the dedication of these fishermen. The
participating anglers dodged tree limbs, muddied out roads, washed up rocks,
and even a closed road sign to get to Rockcastle Bay.
This event is designed to show our gratitude
for the leaders of the church. However, don't let the day's
catches gauge how much these guys are appreciated. The fish were
obviously still "shell shocked" from the overnight storms, because of the 8
boats that participated, only two managed to bring in fish.
