On Saturday, May 19th, 16 anglers ventured
out into cool, but beautiful weather conditions to find a few fish. The
Liberty Point Baptist Church team of Ted Martin and Pastor Monty Flanigan weighed the largest stringer of
bass with three keepers weighing 12.18 pounds. With Brother
Monty having the only keeper in the boat at 11:00am, Ted pulled a rabbit out
his hat to land a monster 6.64 pound largemouth to keep the pastor in check. The duo earned
$80.00, plus the
right to keep the "traveling trophy" all summer.
However, they must put it up for
grabs in the fall at the next scheduled Pastor Appreciation tournament in
September.
After the tournament, FOCAS treated all
anglers to lunch in the "Landing Restaurant" at Prizor Point Marina.
